Aker Solutions has been awarded a grasp contract to help the supply of a subsea compression system for the Chevron Australia-operated Jansz-Io discipline offshore Australia.
The first service order beneath the grasp contract will probably be for front-end engineering and design of a subsea compression station that can enhance the restoration of fuel from the sector. The FEED scope can even cowl an unmanned energy and management floater, in addition to total discipline system engineering providers. The discipline management station will distribute onshore energy to the subsea compression station.
The fuel compression system will enhance restoration of fuel extra cost-effectively and with a smaller environmental footprint than a traditional semi-submersible compressor answer. Aker Solutions in 2015 delivered the world’s first subsea compression system for Equinor’s Åsgard discipline offshore Norway.
“Aker Solutions has labored carefully with its companions MAN Energy Solutions and ABB to scale back the dimensions and price of the compression system,” mentioned Luis Araujo, chief government officer at Aker Solutions. “We are excited to work with Chevron Australia on our compressor-technology to spice up restoration on the Jansz-Io discipline.”
Compression will assist keep plateau fuel manufacturing charges as reservoir stress drops over time. While such compressors have sometimes been put in on platforms over sea degree, putting them on the seabed and close to the wellheads improves restoration charges and reduces capital and working prices.
The Jansz-Io discipline is positioned round 200 kilometers offshore the north-west coast of Western Australia at roughly 1,350 meters under the floor. The Jansz-Io discipline is part of the Chevron Australia-operated Gorgon Project, one of many world’s largest pure fuel developments.
“Australia would be the first place outdoors of Norway to make use of the subsea compression expertise. Aker Solutions has been current in Western Australia for greater than 20 years and we stay up for working collaboratively with the native business on this improvement,” mentioned Araujo.
