Equinor Energy AS, operator of manufacturing licence 025, has concluded the drilling of appraisal nicely 15/Three-11 on the 15/Three-Four (Sigrun) oil and gasoline discovery.
The nicely was drilled about 10 km southeast of the Gudrun subject within the North Sea, and about 225 km west of Stavanger.
The goal of the nicely was to delineate the 15/Three-Four discovery in three reservoir zones within the Middle Jurassic (the Hugin formation).
The discovery was confirmed in reservoir rocks from the Middle Jurassic within the Brent group in 1982. Before nicely 15/Three-11 was drilled, the operator’s useful resource estimate for the invention was between zero.Three – 1.Four million Sm3 of recoverable oil equivalents.
The nicely encountered a complete oil column of about 35 metres within the Hugin formation, of which a few 15-metre thick sandstone layer with poor to average reservoir high quality. The oil/water contact was not encountered. Preliminary estimates of the scale of the invention after the delineation nicely are between 1.1 and a couple of million customary cubic metres (Sm3) of recoverable oil equivalents.
The nicely was not formation-tested, however intensive knowledge acquisition and sampling have been carried out.
The licensees in manufacturing licence 025 will assess the profitability of the invention with regard to a possible growth over the Gudrun subject.
This is the ninth exploration nicely in manufacturing licence 025. The licence was awarded in licensing spherical 2-A in 1969.
Appraisal nicely 15/Three-11 was drilled to a vertical depth of 3991 metres beneath the ocean floor, and was terminated within the Sleipner formation within the Middle Jurassic. Water depth on the web site is 109 metres. The nicely has been completely plugged and deserted.
The nicely was drilled by the Deepsea Bergen which can now drill wildcat nicely 35/10-Four S in manufacturing licence 630 within the northern a part of the North Sea, the place Equinor Energy AS is the operator.
