Workers at a big fuel terminal on Shetland have voted to strike in a dispute over pay.

Unite is in dispute with Aker Solutions, a sub-contractor for Total UK, which operates the Shetland Gas Plant.

Members of the union will strike on Mondays and Wednesdays from November 20 after talks failed to succeed in settlement on a wage improve and vacation pay.

Unite Scotland regional officer John Boland stated the union has tabled a four% wage declare and Aker has supplied 1%.

Aker stated it was upset by plans to strike and is “dedicated to discovering a optimistic decision to the scenario”.

Around 80 staff will participate after 92% of Unite members voted for industrial motion.
