The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities of Indonesia (SKK Migas) has recognized 10 working areas with potential oil and fuel reserves.
According to information of SKK Migas, these 10 areas are in North Sumatra, the Centre of Sumatra, South Sumatra, Tarakan, NE Java-Makassar strait, Kutai offshore, Buton offshore, Northern Papua, Bird Body Papua, and Warim Papua.
Indonesian Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Arcandra Tahar confirmed that Indonesia has large oil and fuel fields in some areas.
The job power has discovered pure fuel reserves of two trillion cubic toes in South Sumatra’s Sakakemang working space in Musi Banyuasin district. Energy firm Repsol held the cooperation contract.
The Indonesian official voiced his hope that it could encourage the spirit of exploration within the nation, as there are lots of basins and performs which have but to be explored.
The potential of the present fuel basin will be optimised by the applying of exhausting work and new know-how, with adjustment within the oil and fuel fiscal system coverage of Indonesia, he added.
The Indonesian authorities will even ease the method of providing oil and fuel working space to traders. Data on registered basins shall be opened for evaluation.
