Statoil suggested that it has awarded Kvaerner the contract for the development of the Johan Castberg FPSO topsides. The contract contains the development and set up of the topside construction for the floating manufacturing, storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) to be situated on the Johan Castberg subject within the Barents Sea. The contract has a complete worth of about NOK three.eight billion ($480 million). The improvement work will happen at a number of yards alongside the Norwegian coast.
“This is among the massive items of the Johan Castberg puzzle, and is a key part of the FPSO. The contract contains constructing a complete of ten modules, a flare growth and central pipe rack. The worldwide competitors for the contract has been powerful, and we stay up for working intently with Kværner within the years to return. Norwegian suppliers have once more demonstrated their competitiveness,” says Torger Rød, Statoil’s senior vp for challenge administration management.
