Oceaneering International’s Remotely Operated Survey (ROS) group has accomplished an Integrated Rig Services marketing campaign for an operator offshore South America.

ROS recorded a milestone 150,000 hours of operations with 99% uptime with no shopper operations or vessel downtime.

Oceaneering was contracted by Apache in June 2019 to offer Integrated Rig Services on the Noble Sam Croft drillship. The work scope included the availability of ROS, Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV), and Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) for a possible three-well marketing campaign.

The ROS and ADCP programs have been mobilized and commissioned on the drillship Noble Sam Croft through the summer time of 2019. The drillship then transited to Suriname the place it started operations within the early fall.

The ROS system eliminates the necessity to remobilise survey tools and personnel for subsequent strikes. Oceaneering surveyors in our Remote Control Monitoring Stations (RCMS) talk and coordinate with the rig personnel and firm consultant throughout rig transfer actions,” mentioned Chris Echols, world enterprise improvement supervisor, Survey Services. “The ADCP programs on the drillship are maintained, recovered, and deployed by the ROV crew. This minimizes personnel on board, and significantly reduces the logistics and prices related to mobilizations in distant areas.

“Additionally, throughout this unprecedented world pandemic, the ROS and ADCP providers have added worth the place personnel actions have been hampered by native restrictions, which differ nation to nation. By utilising ROS, Oceaneering’s providers stay unaffected by these restrictions.”

All ROS surveys are supported by RCMS in Houston, Texas, and Lafayette, Louisiana.

Oceaneering’s ROS can be utilized to execute exploration work, floating manufacturing storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel hookup, plugging and abandonment, improvement, re-latch, and re-spud actions. It can also conduct distant inertial jumper metrologies, distant inertial marker buoy units, and distant monitoring of ADCP information.
