Rolls-Royce has been awarded a contract to produce three 40-foot MTU-brand battery containers for a microgrid on the Pacific island of Rarotonga.

The MTU VitalityPacks will likely be built-in by Vector Powersmart, an power options supplier in New Zealand, into an current energy plant run by the native utility Te Aponga Uira.
