Energy transmission system operator Amprion has chosen RWE Generation for the development of a 300MW gas-fired energy plant within the municipality of Biblis, in southern Hessen, Germany.

The plant can be constructed close to to a decommissioned nuclear energy plant, first inbuilt 1974, for grid stability functions.

Since 1 June 2017, the Biblis nuclear energy plant models A and B have been shut down and are within the technique of being dismantled. It is deliberate that the plant be launched from the necessities of the Atomic Energy Act inside the subsequent 15 years.
