The superior Unit 1 with Gen III+ VVER-1200 of the Belarusian NPP (General Designer and Contractor: Rosatom Engineering) for the primary time reached the nominal capability stage at 19:57 on 12 January.
“Start of the operation at 100% capability is the primary occasion of the pilot operation stage at any nuclear energy unit”, famous Vitaly Polyanin, Vice President and Project Manager for the Belarusian NPP Construction, JSC EC ASE. Once the compliance of the particular operation parameters of the methods and gear with the design necessities is verified, the unit will begin business operation”.
The start-up program started at Unit 1 with Gen III+ VVER-1200 of the Belarussian NPP on 7 August 2020 when the primary gas assemblies with contemporary nuclear gas have been loaded into the reactor core. Later, on 11 October, the Unit reactor reached first criticality (which is lower than 1% of the design capability stage). On three November, the unit was related to the ability system of the Republic of Belarus and began pilot operation on 22 December.
The Belarusian NPP with two VVER-1200 with 2400MW whole capability is being constructed in Astravyets (the Republic of Belarus). The first Belarusian NPP relies on the Gen III+ Russian design that absolutely complies with the worldwide security requirements and proposals of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
Unit 1 of the Belarussian NPP is the primary Russian-design Gen III+ unit constructed overseas. At current, there are three energy models of the sort which are efficiently operated in Russia: two models are on the Novovoronezh NPP and one unit is on the Leningrad NPP. On three January 2021, the fourth Russian-design Gen III+ unit, which is unit 6 of the Leningrad NPP, reached 100% capability.
