As a part of efforts to realize its power transition targets, French multinational power agency ENGIE has in 2020 added a complete of 3GW of renewables capability to its power combine.
The utility has set a goal so as to add 9GW of renewable capability between 2019 and 2021.
Of the 3GW added in 2020, 70% is onshore wind, 21% photo voltaic PV and for the primary time 9% offshore wind.
Up to 2GW of the acquired capability is within the US. The capability was acquired in 4 states and marks a milestone for ENGIE within the US market.

The capability put in in 2020 is distributed as follows:
- North America: 1.8GW
- Europe: zero.9GW
- Latin America and others: zero.3GW.
With the event, ENGIE’s gross renewable power capability amounted to 31GW on the finish of 2020. The utility additionally acquired a further 2GW of working capability in Europe in 2020.
In North America alone, ENGIE now operates 3GW of renewables capability.
Overall, ENGIE’s renewables portfolio consists of 57% hydroelectric capability and 43% wind & photo voltaic property and renewables account for 30% of ENGIE’s gross energy era capability (101GW).
